GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac and Remote Pricing and Imminent Release

I am not much one for rumors, so here is what I know. I have been stalking the upcoming release of the Wi-Fi BacPac™ + Wi-Fi Remote Combo Kit from GoPro ever since I knew it was coming out. I was hoping to have it for One Lap of America, but alas it was pushed back to a nebulous “summer” release date.

I found the product in the Amazon store on Tuesday May 29th, and although it was missing the main product image the rest of the product looked legit. Since it was Amazon supplied and I had an Amazon Prime account, I ordered it anyway, figuring it could go back in a box for an easy return if it was not the real deal. Amazon is sort of notorious for early product leaks when updating their store.

I believe I got lucky, but not lucky enough to get the package all the way to my house. The package made it to the local distribution of UPS, and was supposed to be delivered today. When I go into the tracking information, UPS has updated that the SHIPPER has changed the address. When I go to the product link, it gives me a page is not valid on the Amazon site.

2 days later the actual product is available. I am now thanking Amazon for pulling back the order because the $299 price is a much more manageable $99.

I should have overnighted the package. If somebody wants to tackle the UPS driver in Henrietta, NY he should have one of the first ones in the country.

Here was the original URL to the product.
